SPREE

Desperate need of attention / popular as a social media influencer and for his video to go viral, Kurt Kunkle (Joe Keery) tries too hard and goes to extreme measures just to be as popular or outdo the popular ones who are already famous.

Decking out his car with cameras, not wanting to miss an opportunity, Kurt decides to do rideshare called ‘Spree’, but his plan for his passengers are with a “no mercy” attitude. Yet Kurt just doesn’t seem to have what it takes.

The contents of this movie are good but boring and painful to watch. You get to the stage that Kurt is ever so frustrating to watch, that you really wanted to strangle the guy – that’s a good thing, because Keery carried the film, played his self-obsessed, wanna be famous role at exceptional, convincing height and the format was spot on – especially the part seeking complete strangers approval.

My second movie, watching along the lines like this was ‘Infamous – 2020’. I can only guess this won’t be the last either. Hopefully, future movies will be more creative, more entertaining and fun to watch – although the genre for this movie was comedy / thriller… trust me, it wasn’t funny. Gotta love social media and the idiots out there, you gotta take the good with the bad.

Like I said, the contents good, movie painful to watch. You can watch this movie at your own risk, just don’t over analyse it.
