It was mid-afternoon and all we wanted was to satisfy our hunger with a
delicious treat and also fill us and leave with smiles on our faces.
Well… we found a place that meets those requirements…
‘Pancakes on the
Rocks’. Having been around over 40 years, they have mastered that
perfect pancake recipe with the added ingredients that screams “this is
it!!!” We all ordered different pancakes, I had ‘Hot
‘n’ Troppo’ with two luscious, soft buttermilk pancakes cooked to
perfection with grilled banana, walnuts, cream, scoop of chocolate ice
cream, topped with thick, gooey chocolate sauce. The pancakes just
melted in your mouth and disappeared within seconds. The combination was
absolute perfect.
One of my daughters didn’t know which pancakes to go
for, chocolate or buttermilk? So she carefully chose ‘Vanilla & Choc
Surprise’ where she got one buttermilk pancake and the other of course
was chocolate with a scoop each of chocolate and vanilla ice cream
topped with their chocolate sauce. She told me that she much preferred
the chocolate pancake.
My other daughter who loves berries had
‘Blueberry Heaven’ that consisted of two buttermilk pancakes with
blueberries swimming in their own thick juices topped with cream and
vanilla ice cream. And my wife who loves her chocolate fixes had ‘Devils
Delight’ that would have brought her to ‘chocolate heaven’ indeed. It
consisted of two chocolate pancakes, with cream, chocolate ice cream,
drizzled with their chocolate sauce and surrounded with lots of
strawberries – they didn’t skimp on the strawberries.
We all walked out
of the place with smiles on our faces and exchanging our delights.
However, if you want to make a full meal out of this place, they do have
pizzas, salads, crepes and ribs on the menu and then why not finish
your meal with their perfect range of pancakes for dessert?
The
restaurant is very busy, but you get seated within five minutes, it has a
family restaurant feel to it with bathroom facilities, large tables to
dine on – don’t feel squashed at all, lots of elbow room and spaces for
large plates to fit comfortably, the prices are fair that you get every
cent you paid for. Once you’re finished, ask for the bill and they will
bring the bill to your table, where you take it to the front and pay for
it – too easy!
